COVID-19 PROTOCOLS - EVERYONE PLEASE TAKE A minute TO READ THIS!
Updated June 1, 2020
Hello! We were given the green light by the Province of Manitoba to reopen on May 4, 2020 for routine eye exams.
We have new office and exam protocols from the Manitoba Association of Optometrists and from the Manitoba Government that we must follow to keep everyone safe and help prevent the spread of Covid-19. The safety of everyone - you and your family, the doctors, opticians, staff and the greater community are paramount.
We have reduced the number of appointments per day so that there are less people in our offices and dispensaries, plus we need more time to clean and sanitize our instruments, equipment, exam rooms and offices between patients.
We are practicing safe social distancing and limiting the number of people that can be in our office for eye exams and in our dispensary for shopping for glasses, picking up frames or contact lenses and for frame adjustments, repairs etc.
This means you will need an appointment for any visit to our eye clinic or dispensary. Please call one of our offices or opticals for an appointment, as you will not be able to drop in anymore.
We ask that you come to appointments alone, unless you are unable to (say if you are a parent/guardian with young children or a caregiver). Friends or family with patients may be asked to wait outside the clinic.
All patients and visitors are required to wear a mask or face covering upon entry and for the entire duration of their appointment. Our doctors and staff will also be wearing masks, as per strict personal protection equipment protocols.
Upon entering our office or opticals you will need to immediately sanitize your hands with hand-sanitizer.
If our waiting room or optical is full, you may be asked to wait outside until there is room for you.
Please call our office to reschedule your appointment if you answer yes to any of the following:
- experiencing any signs or symptoms of illness, even mild ones, such as cough, headache, fever/ chills, muscle aches, sneezing, sore throat/ hoarse voice, shortness of breath/ breathing difficulties, loss of taste or smell, vomiting or diarrhea for more than 24 hours, poor feeding of an infant, runny nose, fatigue, nausea or loss of appetite or skin rash of unknown cause.
- contact with anyone diagnosed or suspected of having COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
- you have travelled outside Manitoba in the last 14 days or had any contact with someone who has travelled outside Manitoba in the last 14 days.
Anyone who answers yes to any of the above should contact Health Links-Info Santé at 204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257 (toll-free).
Hey, thanks for taking the time to read this - we know it's a lot to take in!
