Dr. Brian BookDr. Brian Book has been in a busy, diversified practice since graduating from the University of Waterloo as an Optometrist in 1977. He has built one of the most progressive and largest optometric practices together with his partners Drs. Rosenblat, Singh-Enns, Gillman, and Sherbo. He was a pioneer in the early days of soft contact lenses. Brian has lectured internationally on contact lens topics as well as practice management. He has been sought after to participate in Advisory Boards of major ophthalmic product companies such as CibaVision and Johnson and Johnson. He has also participated as a clinical investigator for numerous companies and his findings have contributed to the design and improvements of contact lenses and their fitting techniques.
Dr. Kara RosenblatDr. Kara Rosenblat attended the University of Manitoba, where she obtained a Bachelour of Science degree in 1997 with Distinction. In 2002, Kara graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and returned to Winnipeg to join Dr. Brian Book's practice. Kara has been a member of the Children’s Vision Committee of the Manitoba Association of Optometrists. She has participated in contact lens review panels and taken part in research involving ocular side effects of systemic medications. Along with her partners, she provides a full scope optometric practice with the latest contact lens and spectacle products.
Dr. Sonia Singh-EnnsDr. Sonia Singh-Enns graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2003 and has been practicing Optometry with the Book team ever since. Sonia has served on the Children’s Vision and Diabetes committee for the Manitoba Association of Optometrists. She volunteers doing eye exams at Siloam Mission. In the summer of 2011, she was instrumental in helping to create a vision exhibit at the Manitoba Museum. This exhibit traced the history of Optometry in Manitoba and educated visitors of all ages on the importance of vision and the role of eye care professionals. Sonia is also a proud mother of two young children.
Dr. Mark GillmanDr. Mark Gillman has been practicing Optometry in Winnipeg since 2002, when he graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He also holds a Bachelour of Science degree from the University of Manitoba. In 2007, he joined the private practice of Drs. Book, Rosenblat, Singh-Enns and Sherbo. Mark is past co-chair of the Public Relations Committee of the Manitoba Association of Optometrists and served as the Manitoba member of the National Public Relations Education Committee for the Canadian Association of Optometrists. Mark is married with two children.
Dr. Ehren SherboDr. Ehren Sherbo was born and raised in Winnipeg. He attended undergrad at the University of Manitoba and went on to study Optometry at the University of Waterloo, where he graduated with distinction. Ehren joined Book Optical and Book Vision Care in Fall 2007. He has travelled to attend specialized contact lens seminars and attends Vision Expo East in New York City annually. Ehren is a team Optometrist with the Winnipeg Jets, Manitoba Moose and Winnipeg Goldeyes. He is currently a member of the Manitoba Association of Optometrists’ Government Relations committee. Ehren is also on the organizing committee of the Misericordia Golf Classic and is a board member at St Charles Country Club. In his spare time Ehren enjoys golfing, running, going to the gym, practicing yoga, and looking after his niece and nephew.
Dr. Adam Keech
Adam graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2008. After graduation, he pursued an MSc in Vision Science with a focus on novel techniques for the diagnosis of dry eye, and subsequently worked at the Centre for Ocular Research & Education in Waterloo. Adam relocated to Winnipeg in 2016 and joined Book Optical in 2021. He serves as a member on the council for the Manitoba Association of Optometrists and is also involved with the practice standards committee. He is married with three children.
